"Nursing Care" Visa

"Nursing Care" visa is categorized in Tier II of Group I defined in Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act ("ICRRA", hereafter). 

I. Granted Activities 

activities of nursing care or instruction of nursing care by "certified care workers" under contracts with public or private institution in Japan

II. Granted Period of Stay

5 years, 3 years, 1 year or 3 months

III. Conditions to be Permitted 

A. Applied activities are not false. 

B. Applied activities coincide with activities defined for each visa in ICRRA.

It is also required to meet the followings, or so called " Criteria of Permits for Landing" as "Medical Care" is categorized in Tier II of Group I:

A. The applicant should correspond to each of the following:

a) The applicant should correspond to one of the below:

1. The applicant should be admitted to any college and have studied knowledge and skills required for a certified care worker in the designated school or the designated training institution by a notice of the minister of education and science or of the minister of health and labor, for two years or more.

2. The applicant should have majored the designated subjects on social welfare by regulations in a college and should have graduated the college, otherwise, the applicant should be qualified as the same by regulations and should have studied knowledge and skills required for a certified care worker in the designated school or in the designated training institution by the minister of education and science or by the minister of health and labor, for one year or more.  

3. The applicant should be admitted to any college and should have studied knowledge and skills required for a care worker in a school appointed by the minister of education and science or the minister of health and labor or in a training institution appointed by any governor after graduated the designated school or the designated training institution by regulations.

b) The applicant should receive the same or more wages as a Japanese can receive.

IV. Documents Required to Apply for a Certificate of Eligibility or Change of Visa

A. a material which clarifies the summary of the accepting institution
B. a certificate of a license of a certified care worker
C. a material which clarifies that the applicant has records of study and experience as a certified care worker regulated by the ministry of justice                                                     
D. a document which certifies the contents, terms, the position and wages of the activities

V. Documents Required to Apply for Extension of Visa

A. a document which certifies the contents, terms and the position of the activities

B. a certificate of annual incomes and paid taxes
